Learn more about the new Cruise Origin and it's role in GM's EV future.
GM is defining the future of personal mobility with game-changing technologies like connectivity, self-driving vehicle technology, electrification, carsharing and ridesharing.
We believe the convergence of ridesharing and self-driving vehicles offers great opportunities to improve safety, reduce congestion, and enhance transportation freedom for everyone, including the elderly and disabled.
Some innovative technologies cannot be rolled out overnight, and often require the cooperation of other entities like government to alter standing laws and support necessary infrastructure improvements to effectively deploy the technologies.
GM Public Policy and GM Engage are proactively advocating for legislative and regulatory opportunities that will enable the safe expansion and use of self-driving vehicle systems. Our team is working with local, state and federal governments on key issues impacting GM’s Mobility efforts.
In 2019, over 30 states considered legislation or administrative action regarding AVs and multiple states enacted some form
of AV-related legislation or executive orders. We have seen dramatic progress over the past few years, but we still have a way to go and we are going to need your help!
